Cristina Vertan is a senior researcher and lecturer at the Hamburg University, Research Group in Computerphilologie. She obtained her Ph.D at the University of Bucharest (Romania) and was a Humboldt fellow between 2001-2002. Her research interests are: machine translation, multilinguality in the Semantic Web, and architecture of natural language processing systems. She was leading the research group in Hamburg in the EU-funded Project LT4eL „Language Technology for eLearning“ and was responsible for the multilinguality work package, including cross-lingual search.
